Awapuhi is a Polynesian Introduced plant to Hawaii, meaning it was so important that the first Hawaiians brought it with them on their voyage here. Awapuhi was used in Hawaiian culture for cooking, medicine, lei, and dye. Today many of us know it for its beautiful red fruit, its white flower in lei, and its juice in hair products.
