Kou is a polynesian introduced plant. It was carried with the ancient voyagers that first came to Hawaii because of its many uses in their culture. Kou wood was widely used to make umeke (bowls), kou flowers were turned into lei, and the leaves were used to dye fishing lines.

There are a variety of fabric options to choose from. To learn more about the fabric types and what their recommended uses are visit this page.
