Kaelepulu Elementary School's Mural

Introduction

I was born and raised in Kailua. I live in Kailua now and am raising my 2 soon to be 3 keiki here as well. While I'm not typically a muralist, I couldn't pass up this opportunity to learn more about my homeland and contribute to the community in this public display of art. There are so many stories of Kailua and I just couldn't pick one while I was learning about all of them which is why I designed the mural in this way. I hope you take some time to dive deeper into the elements to learn more about my hometown of Kailua and what we can all do as a larger community to make our homes better places.
