Healing a World in Pain

Healing a World in Pain

This has been a crazy year so far. With every event we hear, with every video we se of what people are experiencing all over the world, we are forced to look inside and ask ourselves where we stand on all of these important issues.

Even if it may not seem like our fight at times, it always is. The fight for humanity involves every single on of us. The fight for good and right is really the only fight there is and it is ever ongoing.

As parents and adults, Malu and I know we have a responsibility to educate ourselves on what is happening, not only in Hawaii, but all over the world. We have to teach these things to our kids and it is our own voice that will guide theirs one day.

I am so saddened by what happened to George Floyd. I canʻt even bring myself to watch the videos of his death because of the weight I know it will leave on my soul. I have seen the weight it has placed on thousands of others who are protesting in pain and my heart and prayers go to them and to the world.

I know not everyone is religious and I respect that. I ask that you respect those who are.

I believe in God and I believe that prayer has power, maybe not to change the outcome of every situation, but to change those that are asking. It has the power to give us strength, insight, love, peace, direction, and so much more which is why it is the handout for this week.

Nā ke Akua e hoʻonaʻauʻao a hoʻopōmaikaʻi iā kākou.

Hi Nona! You just need to click on the picture of the handout and then it should open up a new window for you to download and print. It is possible you have popups blocked on your browser. Try using someone else’s computer if you can’t figure it out. Mahalo!
