What I'm Bringing Back

We’re bringing back LIVE IG painting sessions. I want to call it Painting in our PJs, but I think that’s not appropriate for my age? Am I right about that? To be honest, 30's is a cryptic era for me. How do you accept you’re not in your 20’s and act your age, while also not having the respect and experience that people gain in their 40’s?? I’ll pick up any suggestions you folks lay down.

Anyways, I’ve been wanting to bring this back for a while now and I’m super happy that your email responses last week really made this possible for me to do. Thank you so much to all of you who sent in pictures of one of the Hawaiian plants in last week’s challenge! Last Friday we used a picture by Sarah from Kuaola or Bust LLC of a beautiful Akiohala blossom to do a casual painting tutorial of akiohala. You can rewatch the tutorial and follow along with me here. If you do paint it be sure to send me a picture! It makes me happy to see you all using your creative muscles.

So join me 3 Fridays every month on IG LIVE (in your pjs!) for these painting sessions. I’ll ask the community for pictures of Hawaiian plants and animals for reference and then what we paint will become new community clipart. So many layers of community = more fun and more impact. I hope you’ll join or even if you can’t, please send me reference photos of Hawaiian plants and animals you see around you for us to use!
