A Humbling Reminder
Last week’s event at Hookuaaina got canceled due to the rain. I’m sure it will be rescheduled so be on the lookout for that!
This week since Malu, my kane, was home extra, we worked a lot on intonation as a family. It all started with a conversation between the two of us about the way we were sounding and how after all these years we haven’t done enough to correct the sound. It was a little frustrating to discuss because learning a language is difficult enough and after 10 years - you would think it’s all solid, but it’s humbling to be reminded that the learning hill is never over and working on it is showing our kupuna that we really care!
If you’re wondering what I mean by intonation - I totally understand your question and I was trying to look for a video that talks about it and I couldn’t find one that just addresses this one thing so I think I’ll put that on the list of things to discuss and share with all of you once we start back up the podcast. In the meantime you could listen to this episode we put out a year ago about how we learned Hawaiian.
